This is an absolutly gorgeous coffee table the pictures do not come close to doing it justice. It is hand crafted from AAAAA Figured Maple and wonderfully grained mottled Bubinga there is a Macassar Ebony Stripe down the middle with a 5 piece diamond inlay of Cocobolo framed with Brazilian Tulipwood. The legs and rails are made from AAAAA Figured Maple and Bubinga. The legs are octagons. The table measures approx. 45x24x16, and it has an elegant Roman Ogee edge. Truly a piece of functional art. This piece sold to a special customer, but can be recreated if desired or used as a basic design with different materials.

This is an inspired design on a truly classic style. This writing lap desk was created for a special customer with writing purely in mind. An old meets new mentality was the vision for this piece. Antique style and old world craftsmanship meets exotic materials. The frame of this desk is constructed from Bolivian Rosewood, also called Pau Ferro. The lid is made from a solid piece of highly figured Bubinga. The ink and pen tray are Zebrawood and trimmed with pieces of Tulipwood and Cocobolo. The mantle clock is Bookmatched Highly Flamed Maple and is stained to a rich tiger eye. It is fitted with an elegant 2" glass quartz movement clock. The interior reveals three small drawers for writing supplies and are faced in matching Flamed Maple and trimmed with Cocobolo dividers, and have solid brass hardware. The interior bottom is veneered with Figured Maple as well. Also within there is a handmade and designed latching system crafted from Tulipwood to retain the lid. The intricate inlay on the lid is by far the center point for this piece. It has a dual frame border inlay containing both Macassar Ebony and Anigre. The center 6 diamond inlay is made from Macassar Ebony, Flamed Maple, and a solid Turquoise center diamond, straight from a mine in Nevada. There is also a sculpted solid Macassar Ebony book rest. The entire piece has an unfilled lacquer finish and retains a real tactile quality to each type of wood. All in all this is an exquisite piece that will be especially appreciated by that special fan of writing. This particular piece is sold, but a similar one could be constructed. Please inquire as to specific pricing.

This is another item from the same project as the coffee table. It is a very unique DVD/CD shelf which holds about 160 DVDs. It is handcrafted from Highly Figured Maple and Gorgeous Mottled Bubinga. The pictures again do no justice. It is a very complex geometric pattern where the shelves as seen in the side view complement the A frame at a proportional level. The shelves alternate the panels which are rabbet jointed. There are no screws at all in this project, it is complete joinery and is very solid. This is not the DVD rack for the faint of heart. It is a considerable item which will yield character to any environment. It is a special order item.

Radiator covers are actually one of our biggest sellers. They are perfect not only to simply cover up those ugly old steam heat radiators whose paint flakes off over time, but simply to add a little touch of class to the room. Instead of simply covering up they actually come out a finished high quality piece of furniture. Premium laminated White Pine is the primary material. They are cut to the specific dimensions to fit your radiator. The Pine is then stained (or left unstained) and treated to 3 coats of shellac for some protection and sealing. Above are just a few photos of covers custom made for various customers, the colors available are more or less what can be found in the colors and finishes section under speaker cabinets. Silver or Antique Brass color grills are offered (note silver only comes in one style).
Prices range from $165-$250 (most sizes are $165)

Most of us have music collections of some sort or another, a large collection is of course nothing new to us at KWCABS, but when I was approached to create this very large CD storage even I was impressed. What is particularly nice about this old world style multimedia storage is that it is modular, made from 3 separate units each holding approx 450 cds! This unit handcrafted for C. Prescott of NY was made to compliment some New England style antiques. It was crafted from Honduras Mahogany that was all cut from the same tree filled and treated to a nice satin French polish. It's simple h style construction is both functional and elegant. It is also crafted in the old world style, no screws or hardware here. The highly figured Birch shelves are Dado jointed into the Mahogany frames, they are also edge banded with solid 1/8" thick sewn Mahogany. Units such as these could be made in a variety of styles as well as from a wide variety of timbers.
Price as shown in Mahogany $1410
